Austin Wates collected three hits, and Carlos Perez supplied the go-ahead hit to lead the RedHawks to a 7-5 win over the Nashville Sounds on Sunday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

After Nashville tied the game on Hector Gomez’s tworun homer in the eighth, Joe Sclafani led off the bottom of the inning with an infield single. Preston Tucker singled but was picked off first.

With two outs, Perez singled to left to drive in Sclafani. Domingo Santana, who walked, scored an insurance run on Jio Mier’s RBI single. Wates doubled and scored in the first and supplied RBI singles in the second and seventh.

Kevin Chapman, who has surrendere­d only three earned runs all season, pitched a scoreless ninth to notch his seventh save. RedHawks left-hander Rudy Owens allowed only four hits and one earned run in six innings.
