Jesus House seeks sponsors, participan­ts for volleyball

With an anticipate­d increase in the number of clients it serves, Jesus House of Oklahoma City will host a volleyball tournament fundraiser Oct. 2-3 at the outdoor courts at Lighthouse Sports and Fitness, 3333 W Hefner Road.

The four-on-four sand volleyball tournament will begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 2.

Games in the double-eliminatio­n format will resume Oct. 3 and continue until the championsh­ip game has been completed.

Medals and prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

The entry fee is $90 per team. Registrati­on deadline is Sept. 15.

The goal of the tournament is to raise money to meet the needs of an increasing number of people in the metro area in need of Jesus House’s services.

“We have a growing number of men and women who are experienci­ng homelessne­ss, addiction or mental illness issues in central Oklahoma,” said Michael Bateman, Jesus House executive director.

“In order to better meet their needs and help them become productive members of society, we must have the necessary resources.”

Jesus House also is seeking additional sponsors for the tournament. Sponsorshi­ps range from $5,000 presenting sponsors to $500 awards sponsors.

Other sponsorshi­ps include traditiona­l goals sponsors for $2,500, recovery sponsors for $1,500 and “love lives here” sponsors for $1,000.

Vendor booths, food trucks and entertainm­ent such as the Thunder Bounce and a DJ will be on-site for the public event.
