The South Pointe Care and Rehabilitation community helped make the dream of resident Sharon Roberts a reality.

On Feb. 25, Roberts received a makeover along with the opportunity to go bowling again.

Roberts has been a part of the South Pointe family for several years, moving in shortly after her father died. He was her caregiver as she was limited in her ability to get around. She has severe atrophy and now uses a wheelchair.

In the past, Sharon loved to be at the bowling alley spending time with friends.

When asked what her dream would be, Sharon simply answered, “To bowl again.”

Other organizations volunteered to help with the cost. Her day began at 9 a.m. with a new hair style and makeup provided by Naturally Unique by Nycole and Jessica Ballard at Salons by JC.

She then traveled to Maurice’s and JC Penny to choose new clothing.

After lunch she went to Enchanted Nails for a manicure.

At 3 p.m. she ended the day at Hey Day Bowling, which provides accessible bowling options for the disabled.

MGM Healthcare properties throughout Oklahoma host a Dream Chaser program that provides the opportunity for residents to fulfill their dreams.

“We cherish our residents and if there is anything we can do to help make their lives better, then we will do our best to make that happen” said Genia Manion, administrator at South Pointe Care and Rehab Center.
