WEEKEND CRASHES CLAIM THREE LIVES ON STATE ROADS

Three people died in weekend crashes, authoritie­s reported.

Ashley N. Crabtree, 21, Choctaw

About 7:40 p.m. Sunday, Crabtree was driving east on Interstate 40, about 6 miles east of Midwest City in Oklahoma County. She turned on her emergency lights and began to slow in the outside lane, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A tractor-trailer behind her attempted to swerve but struck the sport utility vehicle from behind, troopers said.

Crabtree died at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Zeyu Wang, 47, of Monterey Park, Calif., was not hurt.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Kerri Louise Parsons, 41, Shawnee

About 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Parsons was riding on a motorcycle west on State Highway 99A, about 6 miles east of Shawnee in Pottawatom­ie County, when the driver lost control and laid down the bike, troopers said.

Parsons died at a Shawnee hospital. The motorcycli­st, Dale Buckahanon, 54, of Meeker, was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital where he was admitted in serious condition, the patrol reported.

Neither were wearing helmets, troopers said.

Tommy Jewel Taylor, 38

About 5:25 p.m. Saturday, Taylor died in a crash in the 300 block of SE 59, Oklahoma City police said.

Taylor died at the scene, and a passenger in his vehicle was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police said.
