‘SPORTS DETECTIVES’ TO DEBUT ON SMITHSONIA­N CHANNEL

The Smithsonia­n Channel’s six-episode docuseries “Sports Detectives” will debut at 8 p.m. Sunday. Reporter

and former FBI agent host the show, which investigat­es and finds missing treasures and hunts down the truth of what happened behind some of the most iconic moments in U.S. sports history.

In the premiere, “Sports Detectives” attempts to track down the American flag that was draped over goaltender after the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team’s gold medal game victory over Finland in Lake Placid, N.Y. That game came two days after the team defeated the Soviet Union in the famous semifinal known as the “Miracle on Ice.”

Other episodes include 1988 World Series home run ball, 1960 Olympic gold

“Immaculate medal, Reception” ball and 100-point game ball.

The Smithsonia­n Channel is carried by DirecTV (570), Dish (367) and AT&T U-Verse (118 and 1118).

• Brothers and will alternate as network analysts on the next two Oklahoma City Thunder-Dallas Mavericks playoff telecasts in Dallas. Brent will join with Eagle and reporter in calling Game 3 at 6 p.m. Thursday on TNT. Jon will work with and reporter in broadcasti­ng Game 4 at 6 p.m. Saturday on ESPN.

• ESPN’s pre-draft coverage includes “Mel & Todd’s Mock Draft” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday as and rotate making first-round selections. Following the show, ESPN.com will post Kiper and McShay’s selections for Round 2. The show will be followed by a compilatio­n show featuring all seven quarterbac­ks from “Gruden’s QB Camp” at 8 p.m. Thursday.

• Fox Sports will debut “Tuf Talk,” a half-hour companion show to “The Ultimate Fighter,” at 11 p.m., following the two-hour premiere of “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Joanna vs. Team Claudia” at 9 p.m. Co-hosted by veteran combat sports journalist and retired UFC fighter and TUF Season 1 cast member each episode of “Tuf Talk” recaps the latest episode of “The Ultimate Fighter,” features cast interviews and provides exclusive show outtakes.
