A farewell to people with Oklahoma ties who enjoyed the game day experience:

78, of Keller, Texas, played baseball at Central High School in Oklahoma City and for the University of Oklahoma. Brumley signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1957, but his limited time in the big leagues was spent with the Washington Senators. The catcher played 224 games over the 1969-70 seasons with the Oklahoma City 89ers. Brumley, a Granite native, retired after ‘70 season and became an ordained Baptist minister. His son, Mike, also played profession­al baseball.

74, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. Starred at quarterbac­k for Emporia State University in Kansas. Went into coaching, which included a stop at Seminole High School. Moddelmog coached the boys and girls golf teams to a combined five state championsh­ips. A family obituary noted Moddelmog’s wife, taught him how to play golf.

81, of Stillwater was a coach who had stops in Claremore, Catoosa and Tulsa Bishop Kelley. He was once a graduate assistant coach for at Oklahoma A&M. Remained an Aggies/Cowboys fan throughout his life.

41, of Guymon. Played basketball and ran track for Keyes High School.

17, of Bristow had dreams of competing in the pole vault at the 2020 Olympics.

16, of Tulsa played football and baseball at Sapulpa and Stroud high schools.

27, of Noblesvill­e, Ind., was a race car driver who competed in Oklahoma several times over the years. He raced during an American Sprint Car Series event this June at Lawton Speedway and won the 2014 Chili Bowl Midget National race in Tulsa. Clauson was a championsh­ip driver on the U.S. Auto Club circuit and raced in the Indianapol­is 500 this past May. He died from injuries suffered in an Aug. 6 crash in Belleville, Kan. Clauson was an organ donor.

84, of Ponca City was a Korean War veteran who bowled for 40 years. He was inducted into the Ponca City Bowling Hall of Fame in 2000.

72, of Ninnekah grew up on the family ranch and became a team roper.

82, of Norman. He played basketball and baseball for Washington High School. Powell was also a tournament fisherman.

16, of Stroud. An all-around athlete who participat­ed in football, basketball, baseball, swimming and soccer at Stroud High School. Also enjoyed riding dirt bikes.

73, of Norman worked in oil and gas. An avid golfer who aced No. 4 at Boiling Springs in Woodward.

56, of Washington played football and basketball at Dibble High. Played summer league softball for 25 years. A referee in football and basketball. Worked in the food industry for Gilt Edge Farms and Kraft.

85, of Chouteau. He coached the softball team for Chouteau First Baptist Church for several years. The 31-year Navy man also liked car racing.

87, of Pryor. He played basketball at Salina High School. He assisted coach Linda Shreffler with the Pryor High girls golf team.

75, of Lone Grove played football, basketball and baseball for the high school.

76, of Ardmore. The attorney held season tickets to Ardmore High football games for more than 40 years. As a youngster, he was a batboy for the Ardmore Cardinals, a Class D minor league baseball team in the 1950s.

62, of Collinsvil­le. He was a football coach at Collinsvil­le High School. Due, who would go into school administra­tion, also coached in the 1987 All-State Game and the 1994 Oil Bowl Game. Inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Associatio­n Hall of Fame in 2014.

23, of Bartlesvil­le. Played baseball for Pryor High School. An Oakland A’s fan.

85, of Maypearl, Texas, played football and ran track for Shawnee High. A jeweler by trade.

59, of Oklahoma City. A former member of the OU Ruf/Neks who took many celebrator­y rides on board the Sooner Schooner after touchdowns.

93, of Oklahoma City. Lettered in wrestling and track at Ferguson High School in Missouri. Became a cardiologi­st.

68, of Branson, Mo. He grew up in Collinsvil­le and then played football for Connors State Junior College.
