Nelson, Adams could be game-time decisions for Packers
The Green Bay Packers may not know the status of injured receivers
and until just before the NFC championship game on Sunday.
Coach said on Friday that all three receivers would be “given every chance to play in the game.”
The Packers didn’t have on-field work on Friday, when all three players were listed as questionable on the injury report.
The team may make a decision on the receivers after the final practice of the week on Saturday.
Nelson was limited in practice this week as he recovers from broken ribs. He led the NFL with 14 touchdown catches.
Nelson wasn’t at Lambeau Field on Friday because of an unrelated illness, McCarthy said. He apparently came down with a bug that bothered kicker
earlier in the week, as well as quarterback later in the week.
Watkins has second surgery on foot
Buffalo Bills star receiver
has had a second operation in less than a year for a broken left foot and is expected to be sidelined until the start of training camp.
The team also announced on Friday that had surgery for a knee injury. The team said the defensive lineman is expected to be cleared in time to participate in offseason activities in the spring.
Watkins’ operation took place last week after team doctors conferred with specialist Watkins initially had two screws surgically inserted into his left foot in April after tests discovered a stress fracture.
Watkins aggravated the injury in September when a teammate stepped on his foot during practice. He was limited, playing in just eight games.
