Two killed in Oklahoma crashes

Two people are dead in Oklahoma crashes, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports.

Anthonio V. Maldonado Jr., 45, of Altus.

Maldonado died at the scene of a 12:30 a.m. crash Thursday on U.S. 62, about a mile west of Post Oak Road and 3 miles southeast of Indiahoma in Comanche County, the patrol reported.

Maldonado was in a car improperly parked in the right lane of U.S. 62 when a car driven east by Terry Joe Boren, 41, of Lawton, struck the parked car.

Maldonado’s passenger, Patricia Mancha, 48, of Altus, was taken to a Lawton hospital and admitted in fair condition.

Boren was not injured. A passenger in Boren’s car, Edward Lee Moss, 59, of Lawton, was treated and released from a Lawton hospital.

Seat belts were in use by everyone involved, the patrol reported.

Austin Lee Franks, 22, of Fairfax.

Franks died about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in a crash on State Highway 18, about 3 miles north of Pawnee in Pawnee County.

Franks was driving south on SH 18 when he drove off the road and into trees.

Passenger Dorcas Georgette Hall-Zotigh, 19, of Pawnee, was taken to a Stillwater hospital and treated for injuries.

Hall-Zotigh was 8 months pregnant and lost her unborn child as a result of injuries suffered in the accident, the patrol reported.

She was wearing a seat belt but Franks was not.
