OKMULGEE — A Colorado man arrested in Oklahoma in a child custody case has been served a murder warrant in the death of the mother of his child, and Boulder police detectives were sent to Oklahoma on Thursday to investigate whether remains found in a trash bin are those of Ashley Mead.

Adam Densmore, 32, was arrested Wednesday in Pawnee County by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, according to Shannon Cordingly, Boulder Police Department spokeswoman.

Mead, 25, of Boulder, was last seen Feb. 12. Her 1-year-old daughter, Winter Daisy Mead, was found with her father and is in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, according to a news release from the Boulder Police Department.

Female remains were found Wednesday in a Murphy USA gas station trash bin in Okmulgee.

The store manager for Murphy USA declined to comment. Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice was not able to answer questions because he was in meetings, according to his staff.

Mead and Densmore were in an on-again, offagain relationship, Cordingly said. She said there was no criminal record of domestic violence involving the two.

“Her work called and requested a welfare check on her because it was unusual for her not to be at work,” Cordingly said. She declined to name the employer but said Mead worked in the educational field.

Cordingly said the murder warrant is sealed.

Anyone with knowledge of the case is asked to call the Boulder Police Department at (303) 4411974.
