a learning process. What I’m learning is I’ve got a good staff of people in terms of administrators. Steve Lopes is responsible for basketball. He’s also our chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Andy (Enfield, USC’s men’s basketball coach) has you have a new president, there are going to be some changes and hopefully all of the changes will be for the better.

am not planning on running for anything except for the car to get back to the hotel to get back to the bus to get back here to play on Sunday.

Cowboys guard Jeffrey Carroll scored 19 points and was one of five Cowboys in double figures scoring Friday, yet Michigan won 92-91 in an NCAA Tournament opener at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Carroll remained upbeat, about his team’s play in the game and all season in the locker room afterward:

They were a great team and we knew that coming in. We spent all week preparing and we knew their every move. They just made plays down the stretch and you really can’t take something away from them that they have been doing all year. We could maybe have communicated a little better. I thought we played pretty good defense in transition. They just made a lot of long, deep shots and got on a run in the second half. You can’t really take anything away from them, because they made a lot of shots. thought we played a pretty good game offensively. We made a lot of shots and stuck to our game plan, which was attacking the basket.

We shot the ball pretty well and normally (shooting 55 percent) will be a winning effort. But they played better than us today.

should be proud. We have had a pretty good season overall, especially with how we started out in conference, going 0-6.

I thought we did a great job of sticking together and fighting back and not just folding. I am so proud of this team.

I am proud of Phil (Forte) and Leyton (Hammonds); they did a great job of leading us in the right direction all year. We should definitely be proud.
