Meeting to focus on recovery

EDMOND — The Edmond chapter of Parents Helping Parents will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Oklahoma Blood Institute’s private meeting room, 3409 S Broadway. Events to raise awareness

NORMAN

— In honor of National Child Abuse Awareness Month in April, events will take place on the University of Oklahoma campus to raise awareness about the prevention, treatment and long-term effects of child abuse. “Resilience,” a film that explores the biology of stress and the science of hope, will screen at 6 p.m. Friday in the Scholars Room of Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave. The free screening will be followed by a discussion about hope-based services in the Norman community. OSU plans native plants conference

STILLWATER — A native plants conference is set for 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. May 31 at the Wes Watkins Center, Room 110 at Oklahoma State University. Registrati­on must be postmarked by May 19.
