Overflowing with compassion
“Cups of Kindness,” a fundraiser for the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, is set for April .
Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children will host its fourth Annual Women of Compassion banquet on April 1 at the Devon Energy Center, 333 W Sheridan Ave.
The annual event, called Cups of Kindness, draws women from across the state for a time of worship, fellowship and an opportunity to hear from a dynamic speaker. Members also vote on how their funds will be invested to empower children and their families to follow Christ through the ministries of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, which includes Hope Pregnancy Centers.
“Our group of Women of Compassion has grown every year since its inception in 2014,” said Shonda Flowers, Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children development representative.
Rochelle Frazier is the event’s keynote speaker. Josh and Kiley Edington, worship leaders at Crossings Community Church, will lead worship throughout the event.
“It has been such a blessing to me to see the generosity and love for children from women all across the state of Oklahoma,” Flowers said. “Our state is filled with compassionate people that truly care about the well-being of children.”
Annual membership is $1,000 and will benefit the ministries of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Vendor tables will be offered before and after the event.
Women of Compassion enables women to be part of gifts that are collectively larger than most women can afford to contribute individually. The organization’s goal is to reach at least 100 members each year.
By reaching the goal of 100 members, Women of Compassion will be capable of awarding a $50,000 grant to one prospective ministry and the remaining $50,000 will provide much needed operating costs to Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
