Smith goes pro

Former Oklahoma City University basketball standout Xavier Smith signed his first professional contract, according to a release.

Smith signed with Girne Universitesi Spor Kulubu in Cyprus. The team competes in the Northern Cyprus Super League.

“I am very excited for Xavier Smith to be able to continue his career professionally overseas,” OCU coach Vinay Patel said in a release. “He was one of the hardest working players we had last season, and made a tremendous impact on our basketball team. There is no doubt that he will represent our program and Oklahoma City University well in everything that he does.”
