Oklahomans at the British Open
T10. Alex Noren E (68-72—140)
Noren, despite shooting two over par, moved up two spots on the leaderboard. He trails leader Jordan Spieth by six shots, but the Sweden native is in excellent position for his second top 10 finish at the British Open.
The former Oklahoma State golfer begins his third round at 8:45 a.m. Saturday with American Kent Bulle.
T24. Rickie Fowler +2 (71-71—142)
Fowler is having a difficult time at No. 10 and No. 12, for he made bogey consecutive days at both holes.
The former Oklahoma State golfer begins his third round at 7:50 a.m. Saturday with 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia.
T45. Peter Uihlein +4 (72-72—144)
Uihlein once again limited his mistakes and made the cut for the second time at a major. His first made cut at a major was at the 2011 British Open.
The former Oklahoma State golfer begins his third round at 5:15 a.m. Saturday with South Korean K.T. Kim.
T45. Jimmy Walker +4 (72-72—144)
Walker was dangerously close to the cut line, but birdies on No. 15 and No. 16 helped him comfortably qualify for the weekend.
The Oklahoma City native begins his third round at 5:55 a.m. Saturday with two-time major champion Martin Kaymer.
CUT. Robert Streb +7 (69-78—147)
After a fantastic first round, Streb was even par Friday through 12 holes. But the Edmond North alumnus’ round fell apart with a quadruple-bogey 8 at No. 13.
Despite the setback, Streb still had an opportunity to make the cut, but he finished bogey-par-bogey-double bogey on his final four holes.
CUT. Charles Howell III +9 (74-75—149)
The former Oklahoma State golfer could never get any momentum going during either round, and he made only one birdie each day.
CUT. Todd Hamilton +18 (79-79—158)
The former Oklahoma golfer and British Open champion shot nine over on both days and had the highest score of all players failing to make the cut.
