Youth council deadline nears

NORMAN — City officials are seeking high school sophomores, juniors and seniors who are active in their school and community want to learn about local government. The applicatio­n deadline is Friday for the 2017 Norman Youth Council. Successful applicants will serve from September through May and are limited to two terms. Edmond sets Krazy Daze

EDMOND — Krazy Daze, an annual retail sales event, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown Edmond and throughout the city. The event, with a tropical theme this year, will offer the best bargains and sales of the season.

Quilters guild plans meeting

The July meeting of the Central Oklahoma Quilters Guild will be at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Post Air Park, 5700 N Rockwell Ave., in the Clarence E. Page Building. Deborah Pickens and Debbie Ross will give a lecture and trunk show on “Landscape Techniques.”

At the same location, Pickens and Ross will conduct a workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday on making a landscape quilt. The workshop fee is $40 for members and $45 for nonmembers. For more informatio­n, call Jo Balding at 603-7726.
