UTILITY CEO GAINS INSIGHTS FROM OKLAHOMA STAKEHOLDERS DURING RECENT VISIT
Q: What was the reason for your recent visit to Oklahoma?
A: As a regulated utility that owns and operates electric transmission facilities here in Oklahoma, my recent visit served as an important opportunity to receive insight and direction from key state stakeholders on how ITC can continue to work with strategic partners and customers to better serve Oklahoma’s growing energy needs.
Q: What led you to be CEO of a utility company, which typically is a male-dominated industry?
A: I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work for a company and industry that I am really passionate about, and have always dedicated myself to leading by example, regardless of my role or position. Becoming the CEO of a growing, successful business with a team of outstanding employees dedicated to the mission and success is a dream come true.
I’ve also had outstanding mentors over the years and humbled to be among a group of fantastic female CEOs across the energy industry — and the Oklahoma chapter of the Women’s Energy Network is continuing to grow at an impressive rate, which is great to hear.
Q: What’s new with ITC in Oklahoma?
A: ITC is very focused on partnership opportunities to ensure we are addressing the electric infrastructure needs of the state — especially with the ongoing integration of renewables and new technologies.
Oklahoma always has been a leading energy state, and ITC is working closely with many in the industry to help build the electric infrastructure that will serve the 21st century needs not only for Oklahomans, but also for the region as a whole.
