NORMAN — With the announcement of the Big 12 schedule, the Oklahoma women’s basketball 2017-18 slate is finally complete.

After concluding the nonconference season on the road against Connecticut, Oklahoma will open Big 12 play by hosting Texas on Dec. 28. The Sooners will also close the regular season two months later against the Longhorns in Austin, Texas

The Sooners have a fairly favorable schedule early on, hosting TCU on Jan. 4, Baylor on Jan. 14, Oklahoma State on Jan. 20, Kansas on Jan. 24, Kansas State on Jan. 31, and West Virginia on Feb. 3.

Oklahoma will complete the Bedlam series fairly early in the conference season, playing in Stillwater on Jan. 7 before hosting Oklahoma State less than two weeks later.

The toughest stretch of the Big 12 season comes in a two week stretch beginning with the Feb. 3 home matchup against West Virginia. Following that game, OU will hit the road for three consecutive road games at Baylor, Kansas and West Virginia.

OU’s senior night will likely be the final home game against Texas Tech on Feb. 24.

The Big 12 women’s basketball tournament, which begins March 2, will be held in Chesapeake Energy Arena for the third consecutive year.

The Sooners will open their season with two exhibition games against Central Oklahoma on Nov. 3 and Southwestern Oklahoma State on Nov. 7 in Norman.

OU will open the regular season with a home game against Belmont on Nov. 10.

Oklahoma State unveils conference schedule

Oklahoma State women’s basketball released its Big 12 schedule Thursday, though the non-conference schedule is still under wraps.

OSU opens conference play with a Dec. 28 game at Texas Tech but returns home a couple days later for a New Year’s Eve game against Kansas State.

The Cowgirls will also host the first round of Bedlam on Jan. 7, preceded by a trip to Austin, Texas to take on the Longhorns.

OSU will have a doozie of a stretch when it travels to Iowa State on Feb. 10 and hosts Baylor on Feb. 13. Following the Baylor game, OSU will host Texas on Feb. 17.

The Cowgirls wrap up the regular season at home against TCU on Feb. 26.

Sooners add top Texas high school guard

OU snatched a big-time recruit from Fort Worth last week, picking up a verbal commitment from guard Madison Williams.

The four-star 5-foot-10 wing is considered the No. 25 overall player and the No. 2 wing in the 2018 class by ESPN.

Williams, who’s a senior at Trinity Valley School, is Oklahoma’s third commitment in the class, joining point guard Taylor Robertson and point guard Tatum Veitenheimer, both rated as three-star athletes.
