The Oklahoman

RANKING THE NON-BIG 12 GAMES

-

1. Stanford at Southern Cal, 7:30 p.m., Fox: Still a solid rivalry, even though Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh are gone.

2. Auburn at Clemson, 6 p.m., ESPN: Only the fifth regularseason meeting since 1971 for an ancient rivalry.

3. Georgia at Notre Dame, 6:30 p.m., NBC: Only other meeting was the Sugar Bowl after the 1980 season, when the Bulldogs won the national title. Georgia fans have made this game the nation’s hottest ticket.

4. Boise State at Washington State, 9:30 p.m., ESPN: Boise State could stake a claim as the front-runner for the mid-major New Year’s Six bowl berth.

5. Nebraska at Oregon, 3:30 p.m., Fox: Big early game for the Willie Taggart regime in Eugene.

6. South Carolina at Missouri, 6 p.m., ESPN2: Winner moves to 2-0 in a season in which not much was expected. If it’s the Gamecocks, it’s two victories over fellow Power-5 schools.

7. Western Michigan at Michigan State, 2:30 p.m., Big Ten Network: A good test for the Spartans to tell if they’re recovering from 2016 disaster.

8. Utah at Brigham Young, 9:15 p.m., ESPN2: The Holy War is even more so for BYU these days, since it has no conference championship to chase and a major bowl berth is out of the question.

9. Pittsburgh at Penn State, 2:30 p.m., ABC: A game that ought to be played every year, this is just the second meeting since 2000.

10. Louisville at North Carolina, 11 a.m., ESPN: With Florida State quarterback Deandre Francois out, the ACC road opens up for the Cardinals.
