- For The Oklahoman BY JESSICA PHILLIPS

Guthrie residents can expect to see their water and sewer bills go up near the end of October as part of a master fee resolution passed by the Guthrie Public Works Authority last year.

Effective Oct. 31, residents living in the city limits can expect to pay $15.35 for their first 2,000 gallons of water.

People living outside of the city limits can expect to pay at least $26.54.

Sewer rates will also go up to $11.10 per month for people living within and outside of city limits.

An additional $2.93 will be charged for each 1,000 gallons of metered water.

Duplexes, triplexes, multifamily units and commercial buildings have more expensive rates, according to the resolution.

Costs increase per 1,000 gallons following the initial 2,000 gallons.

The resolution shows an increase in rates over the course of a few years. Effective Oct. 31, 2018, water rates will increase to $16.12 for the first 2,000 gallons in the city limits.

Rates will reach $27.87 for the first 2,000 gallons outside of the city limits.

Sewer rates are listed as $13.60 minimum, plus $3.22 per 1,000 gallons of metered water.

Resolution No. 201603 was approved on May 3, 2016.

The rates cover debt service, operation and maintenance for water and wastewater facilities, according to the resolution.
