EdFest to benefit Edmond Mobile Meals
EDMOND — The fifth annual EdFest will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Festival Market Place, 26 W First St.
Edmond Mobile Meals is partnering with Red Valley Landscape and Construction to present the family friendly event in downtown Edmond.
EdFest is the biggest fundraising event of the year for Edmond Mobile Meals. The event will include food trucks, local breweries, a silent auction with items and services from local businesses, a Kidzone and live music from local band “Souled Out” courtesy of Main Stage Sponsor, John Vance Auto Group/Vance Family Trust.
Participating food trucks will include Flying Pig BBQ, The Saucee Sicilian, Chef Ray’s Street Eats, Blue J’s Rolling Grill, Let’s Do Greek and Filipino Fusion. Local breweries participating this year are Anthem Brewing, Bricktown Brewery and COOP Aleworks.
EdFest 2017 will have fun activities for kids of all ages with two inflatables, face painting with Silly Lily, temporary tattoos, carnival games, character photos and more. Wristbands for all access to the Kidzone can be bought for a donation of $5 each. Families also can take photos in the Photo Bus for a $5 donation and receive a printout to keep!
Silent Auction items will include: Kendra Scott jewelry, a three-month membership to River Oaks Golf Club, round-trip airfare for two from Southwest Airlines, a hot-air balloon ride for two from Spirit in the Skies, and more.
All proceeds from this event will support the Edmond Mobile Meals mission to provide hot, nourishing meals and daily wellness checks to homebound seniors and disabled residents in the community. In 2016, Edmond Mobile Meals delivered nearly 51,000 meals to the homebound in Edmond, and the EdFest event raised enough funds to cover the cost of 7,000 of those meals.
