TULSA — U2’s “eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour” will begin its North American run in Tulsa May 2 at the BOK Center, 200 S Denver Ave.

The BOK Center stop will be one of only 15 North American show dates as well as the band’s first live performance in Tulsa in 35 years, according to a news release.

The concert is the fourth show announced for BOK Center’s “10 for 10” concert series in 2018, a planned celebration that will feature 10 blockbuster artists commemorating the arena’s 10th anniversary.

Tulsa tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday and will be available online only at www.bokcenter.com exclusively through Ticketmaster Verified Fan. Tickets will not be available to be purchased at the Arby’s Box Office on Monday, according to the release.

All fans must sign up with Verified Fan by Saturday to become eligible to buy U2 tickets Monday when they go on sale. To register, fans should go to www.u2.tmverifiedfan.com.

U2 is using Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan system in an effort to keep tickets out of the clutches of bots and scalpers and ensure that tickets purchased on Monday are purchased by actual fans, according to the release.

The 2018 tour will support “Songs of Experience,” the 14th studio album from U2, which will be released Dec. 1 by Interscope Records.

Just as “Songs of Experience” serves as a companion piece to U2’s 2014 album “Songs of Innocence,” the “eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour” will serve as a sequel to 2015’s “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour,” which saw “U2 reinvent the arena show,” according to Rolling Stone, and was named the No. 1 concert of 2015 by The New York Times.

Tulsa ticket prices range from $44 to $327. For more information, go to www.bokcenter.com.
