Raptors suspend Ibaka for altercation with staff member

- FROM WIRE REPORTS

Raptors forward Serge Ibaka was suspended for Toronto's game Friday night against Atlanta because of an altercation with a team staff member.

Coach Dwane Casey would not divulge details of the incident, which happened after Wednesday's loss at Oklahoma City, but said Ibaka and the staffer have apologized to one another. Casey said the situation was "resolved."

"It went over the limit and we've handled it," Casey said.

Ibaka is averaging 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds this season, his second with the Raptors.

Acquired from Orlando last season, Ibaka signed a three-year, $65 million deal to remain with the Raptors. He scored seven points Wednesday in a 124-107 loss to the Thunder—his former team.

C.J. Miles replaced Ibaka in the starting lineup against the Hawks, his second start of the season. Toronto also recalled forward Bruno Caboclo from its G-League team for Friday's game.

Spurs' Rudy Gay to miss at least 2 weeks with heel injury

Spurs forward Rudy Gay will miss at least two weeks after an MRI revealed retrocalcaneal bursitis in his right heel.

Gay exited in the final minute of the third quarter during San Antonio's 119107 victory over Brooklyn on Thursday night. An MRI Friday morning showed the inflammation of the bursa sac that lies over the heel.

Gay missed two previous games this season with a sore right heel.

The 12-year veteran, who signed with the Spurs in the offseason, will be re-evaluated in two weeks following a rest and rehabilitation program.

The injury is unrelated to the torn left Achilles tendon he suffered Jan. 18 and underwent successful surgery on while with the Sacramento Kings.

The 6-foot-8 forward is averaging 22.8 minutes and 11.6 points for San Antonio.

Gay's injury occurred two nights after the Spurs had every player healthy and available for the first time this season. San Antonio (2511) has played without Kawhi Leonard and/or Tony Parker for 31 games this season due to quadriceps injuries along with minor injuries to Danny Green and Kyle Anderson.

Pacers' Oladipo sits vs. Bulls

Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo was ruled out for the second straight game because of a sore right knee.

Oladipo started each of Indiana's first 33 games before he missed Wednesday night's 98-94 loss to lowly Dallas. He also missed Friday night's game at Chicago, and coach Nate McMillan called him "doubtful" for Sunday's matchup with Minnesota.

McMillan said Oladipo "needs to rest the knee and we have to give him some time here."

The 25-year-old Oladipo was acquired in the offseason trade that sent Paul George to Oklahoma City. He is averaging a career-high 24.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in his first season with Indiana.
