Special judge takes oath of office

Scott Brockman was sworn in Friday as special judge for Cleveland County.

Brockman took the oath of office during in the ceremonial courtroom of the Cleveland County Courthouse. He was appointed to fill the position left vacant when Judge Michael Tupper was appointed to the position of district-judge.

His duties as special judge will include presiding over criminal misdemeano­rs, traffic cases, victim's protective orders, small claims and various civil dockets. His assignment­s also will include magisteria­l duties on felony cases, arraignmen­ts and jury trials by assignment.
