Meetup offers tips for using Windows

The Computer Tricks and Tips Meetup Group will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at 3000 United Founders Blvd., Room 201.

Programs presented at each meeting will provide informatio­n on computer tricks and how to make your computer run better, run faster, or just make your life easier when using a computer. Subjects included are: Start Menu, Action Center, Task Bar, Cortana, File Explorer, Windows 10 Setting Menu and Microsoft Edge.

•The Oklahoma Family History Centers will present the “Treasure Your Roots” Genealogy Conference, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, 5700 N Kelley Ave. The event is being held in cooperatio­n with the Oklahoma City area LDS Family Search, OKC LDS Public Affairs, Oklahoma Genealogic­al Society, Oklahoma Historical Society, Black Genealogy Research Group, Associatio­n of Profession­al Genealogis­ts and OHCE Genealogy Group.

Thom Reed, global outreach manager for Africa and Pacific Family Search Internatio­nal, will be the keynote speaker.

Registrati­on is $10 by credit card and includes lunch. Register on the Oklahoma Genealogic­al Society website at www. okgensoc.org. A mail-in form also can be downloaded from the website.

•The Oklahoma Genealogy Computer Special Interest Group meeting scheduled for Feb. 10 has been canceled. The society is one of the hosting groups for the “Treasure Your Roots 2018 Genealogy Conference.”
