Pryor man dies in crash

SALINA — A Pryor man died Saturday afternoon after his car crashed into a tree, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 12:30 p.m., Jonathan Philpot, 61, was driving east on a Mayes County road, about 4 miles east of Salina. The car went off the road in a curve and struck a tree. Philpot, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said.

17-year-old girl arrested in connection with school threats

A 17-year-old girl was arrested late Friday, accused of making a fake social media account and threatenin­g violence at two Oklahoma City schools.

Ariyon Moore, 17, was booked into an Oklahoma County juvenile detention facility. Moore is accused of creating a fake social media account under a boy’s name and posting threats toward John Marshall High School and Northeast Academy.

Police department­s in Kansas and Virginia also contacted police because they have schools there with similar names, police said.

More was booked on complaints of terrorism hoax and false personatio­n, police said.

Man arrested in death of wife

LAWTON — An Oklahoma man who allegedly supplied his wife with methamphet­amine and then bound her after she became combative has been arrested in connection with her death. Brandon Harris, 49, was arrested on second-degree manslaught­er and drug charges after the death of Heather Harris, at their home in Lawton.

An affidavit made public Friday says the woman died shortly after midnight Feb. 10 after the couple took meth that Brandon Harris had supplied. He told police that after consuming the drug, Heather Harris took her clothes off and went outside for at least half an hour. The affidavit says the couple fought physically, and Brandon Harris allegedly bound her “until she became unconsciou­s and died.”
