First-responders compete to benefit youth group

First-responders from Norman and Moore will compete in a basketball tournament April 21 that benefits a Norman youth organization.
The fourth annual “Heroes on the Court” event will take place at 10 a.m. at Norman North High School, 1809 Stubbeman Ave. Public safety firstresponders from Norman and Moore will participate in a single elimination basketball tournament. A free festival will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and will feature public safety vehicles on display, inflatables and games. The tournamentwill be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person and free for children 5 and younger.

Norman Police Chief Keith Humphrey said his department is honored to participate in the annual event. “Our hope is that this event continues to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community,” Humphrey said.
