Cowboy museum to hold cake-off
The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum will host its first-ever cake decorating contest featuring local pastry chefs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 in the museum’s galleries.
The cakes, inspired by the thick, impasto-style works of art in “Do You See What I See? Painted Conversations” by Theodore Waddell, will each resemble a different modern painting from the new exhibition.
Guests can enjoy coffee and cake and are encouraged to vote for their favorite cake.
The creation that “takes the cake” will be announced at 2 p.m.
Eleven artistic cakes will be displayed, and chefs from Raspberries and Creme, Rosebeary’s Bakery, Seasoned from Above, Platt College and other local bakeries will compete for the people’s choice award.
The program is free to view with museum admission.
Museum members and nonmembers wishing to vote and enjoy coffee with cake may pay $5 at the door.
