VanDam wins again on Grand Lake

Kevin VanDam won a record 25th Bassmaster tournament on Sunday as he captured the Elite Series event on Grand Lake.

The Kalamazoo, Michigan, angler weighed in 83 pounds, 4 ounces over four days to earn $100,000. He beat Tommy Biffle of Wagoner by more than 5 pounds. Biffle was 44th after the first day of fishing on Thursday but finished second in the tournament with 78 pounds, 2 ounces.

VanDam, 50, also won an Elite Series event on Grand Lake in 2007. His victory at Grand Lake pushes his winnings to more than $6.3 million across 306 tournament­s over an impressive 29-year career.

Wodach hits walk-off, Sooners beat Longhorns

Lea Wodach hit a walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Oklahoma softball team beat Texas 5-4 on Sunday in Norman.

OU’s Jocelyn Alo hit two home runs, and Shay Knighten and Nicole Pendley hit back-to-back shots in the sixth inning as the Sooners (44-3, 15-0) completed their three-game sweep of the Longhorns (28-21, 10-6).

Energy FC falls

Kevin Partida and Lindo Mfeka scored two goals in the second half as Reno 1868 FC beat Oklahoma City Energy FC 2-0 Saturday night in Reno, Nevada.

OKC’s streak without a goal has reached a club record six matches.

Energy FC returns to Taft Stadium to take on the Swope Park Rangers Saturday starting at 7 p.m.
