The popular YouVersion Bible App, developed by Edmond-based Life. Church, is linking up with Facebook to share Scripture in a new way.
A new feature of the popular YouVersion Bible App has been developed, this time in partnership with Facebook.
The Bible App was one of the first 200 free apps when Apple’s App Store debuted years ago. Since then, it has been downloaded in every country of the world. Since then, Bobby Gruenewald, YouVersion founder and innovation pastor at Life.Church, along with other leaders has worked continuously to add languages to the Bible App so that people around the globe may read the Bible translated into their own language.
Thursday, Gruenewald said Facebook, at its annual developer conference called F8, announced that it has been working on a new project with YouVersion.
“The concept will allow Facebook users to integrate a module into their Facebook Groups so that every day, the Verse of the Day Image will be published in the group directly from the YouVersion Bible App. The feature is not yet released, but we will be sharing more information when it’s available to users,” Gruenewald said in a prepared statement.
“We’re excited to work with Facebook on this project and appreciate that they recognize the importance of making it easier for their billions of users to connect with Scripture in community. Verse of the Day integration with Facebook Groups is just one example of the kind of integration we want to partner on, and we look forward to what’s to come.”
