Doris Marie Dannehl

After a sudden & brief illness Doris Marie (Eades) Dannehl passed quietly, surrounded by family on 09-21-18. Doris was born to William A. "Buddy" Eades & Jacquelyn "Marie" (Brewer) Eades on 12-26-34 in OKC, OK. Doris was raised in Piedmont, OK where she attended Piedmont Schools & graduated Valedictorian of her class. Doris was a Baptized member of First Baptist Church Piedmont. She married George A. Dannehl, at that church, on 07-11-54. They both grew up in Piedmont & attended grades 1-12 together. This year they celebrated 64 yrs. of marriage. The first several yrs. of their marriage, Doris worked for a Bank & SW Bell in OKC before devoting herself to raising their children & full-time management of their home & farming operations. Throughout the yrs. she played a significant role as a true helpmate, doing everything from preparing & carrying meals to the field for their farm hands & having a hot supper ready for them when they returned at the end of the day to helping in a variety of capacities as a Pastor's wife for several years. Doris & George moved to Norman, OK in 1972 where they quickly became active members of FBC Norman. She was involved many yrs. with the Friendship International Program, Church nursery & numerous other volunteer efforts at FBC. After George retired, they moved to S. OKC in 2013 where they attended OK Community Church before settling-in as members of Southern Hills Baptist. Many family members, friends & acquaintances of Doris have benefited from her endearing way of making herself available on a moment's notice to do whatever she could, to help in any circumstance. Often going above & beyond. She has provided a rich, Christian heritage & ever faithful example of her belief in Christ, her Lord & Savior for her family. She has always striven to humbly walk the Christian path, looking to God for strength & guidance in the hard times & graciously thanking Him & worshiping Him in the easier times. Survivors include: George Dannehl (spouse), Marilyn Davis (sister), Steven Dannehl (son) & wife Robbie, Brenda Graham (daughter) & husband Phillip, grandchildren: Mark Dannehl (wife Tara), Justin Moss (wife Jessika), great-grandchildren: Trevor Dannehl, Clark Dannehl and Kimber Moss, nephews & nieces: Dennis Dannehl, Leigh Ann Whitley, Michael Davis, Valerie Ray. Memorial service will be at Southern Hills Baptist Church in S. OKC on Friday, Sept. 28th, at 2pm with visitation at Resthaven in S. OKC on Thursday, Sept. 27th, from 4-8pm.
