Marilyn Eva Kelley Adams peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 28, at Fairlawn Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 27. Born October 19, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to Arthur B. and Margaret Renner Kelley. Preceded in death by her parents, a son John P. Adams, Jr., husband John P. Adams, Sr., grandson John M. Jones, brother James B. Marsh, and sister Patricia Wichmann. Survived by daughters Barbara L. Adams, Comanche, OK, Ann A. Cranford and husband Jimmy R. Cranford, Chandler, OK, Deborah S. Ledbetter and husband Phillip K. Ledbetter, Willow Park, TX and Diane A. Alderson and husband Mark W. Alderson, of Baker City, OR. Marilyn graduated high school from the Academy of Sacred Heart High School, Saint Louis, MO, followed by graduating from Secretaria­l School. Marilyn and John married on Jan. 10, 1956 in Jackson, Mississipp­i. They moved to Jonesboro, AR where Marilyn worked at General Electric while John completed his collegiate education at Arkansas State University. In 1970 they moved to Comanche, OK where they raised their 5 children. Marilyn worked alongside her husband on the farm and in their various small businesses. In addition to working outside the home, Marilyn supported her children in school events and their extracurri­cular activities. In retirement she enjoyed fishing, decorating, gardening and knitting. Marilyn loved all animals and found great joy and companions­hip in her dogs. Special thanks to Debbie Wall for her years of care and companions­hip and to Dr. Thomas Crow for years of care.
