Edmond plans hearings on long-term growth
Edmond residents are invited to several upcoming public hearings on the city's potential longterm growth and development.
The Edmond Planning Department will be presenting proposed updates for Edmond Plan IV to the planning commission and city council, a news release stated. Edmond Plan IV is the comprehensive land use plan for the city, and will be renamed The Edmond Plan, 2018.
The public hearings will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Edmond City Council Chambers, 20 S Littler. The dates and specific topics are:
• Oct. 2 — Planning Commission: Discussion of how the Edmond Plan can be used to inform development related decisions by describing future land use patterns.
• Nov. 6 — Planning Commission: A review and discussion of actions and recommendations that the city should consider to achieve the community’s vision. The Edmond Planning Commission will provide a formal recommendation to the Edmond City Council.
• Nov. 13 — City Council: Discussion of how the Edmond Plan can be used to inform development related decisions by describing future land use patterns.
• Nov. 26 — City Council: A review and discussion of actions and recommendations that the city should consider to achieve the community’s vision.
• Dec. 10 — City Council: Final action to approve the updated Edmond Plan.
