Pets & People seeks donations
YUKON — Pets & People Humane Society is collecting tax-deductible items and gift certificates for its Nov. 3 silent auction and dinner.
The annual charity event, which is Pets & People’s largest fundraiser of the year, will begin at 7 p.m. at 10 W Main.
Dozens of auction baskets will be available for bidding at Pets & People Humane Society’s 2018 silent auction. Proceeds will help fund medical treatment for pets’ surgeries for spay and neuter to help end the cycle of unwanted pets.
“We are asking for donations to fill our popular gift baskets, which make great Christmas presents,” Pets & People board member Edy Bauer said. “We will have a large assortment of items for the silent auction such as designer purses, time share vacations, art, jewelry, tools, housewares, handmade items such as quilts and Christmas table runners, plus Thunder tickets, theater tickets and restaurant gift certificates.”
Auction tickets are available for $25 if bought by Oct. 29, and $30 if purchased after that date or at the door.
The ticket donations will include entry to the auction, a buffet dinner, iced tea and coffee.
Supporters also may reserve a table that seats eight guests for $250, which includes signage on the table to promote their businesses or honor their favorite pets.
Tickets are on sale from noon to 5:30 p.m. seven days a week at Pets & People Humane Society, 701 Inla, in Yukon. Tickets also may be bought online at http://www. petsandpeople.com/.
