Lunchtime will focus on family’s Civil War history

The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center will host a free Brown Bag Lunch and Learn presentati­on at noon Nov. 14. Speaker Craig McKinley will discuss his family’s Civil War history.

Those who attend also can see the exhibit “The 1893 Land Race: A Legacy of Community” before it closes Nov. 17. The exhibit focuses on early life and town-building efforts in the Cherokee Outlet just after the land run.
