Gala coming up

The Mercy Health Foundation will host its annual gala starting at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.

The gala supports patient assistance programs. It includes a dinner, silent auction, raffle and performanc­e by country group Runaway June. A DJ will host an after party.

NAMI gives awards

The National Alliance on Mental Illness Oklahoma gave its annual awards to the following recipients:

• Nadine Lewis, achievemen­t award for leading support groups, training volunteers and serving on the NAMI Oklahoma board while living with a mental illness.

• Ruth Mojica, volunteer service award for teaching classes and running support groups in Cleveland County.

• NAMI Edmond/ North Oklahoma City chapter, affiliate of the year award for offering a growing range of classes, support groups and events about mental illnesses.

Nurse receives award

Diana Gassett, division director of behavioral health, received the nursing excellence award from SSM Health St. Anthony.

Gassett has worked at St. Anthony for 38 years. The award recognizes dedication to quality patient care.

Hospital groups merge

LifePoint Health and RCCH HealthCare Partners merged and will both use the LifePoint name.

RCCH included Southweste­rn Medical Center in Lawton, as well as other hospitals outside Oklahoma. LifePoint is based in Tennessee.

TSET makes grants

The Tobacco Settlement Endowment trust gave 34 grants to schools and communitie­s trying to improve the public’s health. For a list of recipients, read the health notes on NewsOK.com.
