Sixers demolish Timberwolves

Joel Embiid had 31 points and 13 rebounds, and the Philadelphia 76ers scored 83 points in the first half in a 149-107 thrashing of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night in Jimmy Butler's first game against his former team.

The Golden State Warriors were the only team to score more first-half points in a game this season when they dropped 92 on the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 29. The Sixers hit a team-record 21 3-pointers and reached their highest point total in the 22-year history of the Wells Fargo Center.

Butler scored 19 points in the first meeting with Minnesota since it sent him to the 76ers in a package deal that brought forwards Robert Covington and Dario Saric in return.

Pacers crush Phoenix

Bojan Bogdanovic scored 20 points and the Indiana Pacers cruised to a 131-97 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.

Myles Turner returned for the first time in four games to finish with 18 points and six rebounds. Turner was nursing a sore right shoulder over the last week.

Indiana got off to a hot start thanks to Bogdanovic, who scored the Pacers' first 10 points. The Pacers doubled the Suns' total in the first quarter, leading 38-19 at the end of the period.

Cory Joseph scored eight of his 10 points in the first quarter, adding to Bogdanovic's hot start. Thaddeus Young scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half and finished the game with seven rebounds.

Bucks sign Colson to two-way contract

The Milwaukee Bucks signed forward Bonzie Colson to a two-way contract Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5 forward has spent the 2018-19 season with the Canton Charge of the NBA G League after going undrafted in last year's draft out of Notre Dame. In 23 games with the Charge, Colson averaged 15.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 blocks in 28.9 minutes per game. He also shot 49.1 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from 3-point range.

The 23-year-old Colson played in 125 games (92 starts) with Notre Dame over four seasons.

Grizzlies pick up Wallace

The Memphis Grizzlies have signed forward Julian Washburn to a two-way contract and have waived forward/center Jarnell Stokes.

Washburn, 27, has played 23 games with the NBA G League's Austin Spurs and has averaged 10.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 31.6 minutes.

The 6-foot-8 Washburn is in his third season with Austin and also has played professionally in Germany and New Zealand. He was undrafted after playing four years at UTEP, where he was the 2014-15 Conference USA defensive player of the year.
