Col. Glenn Leon Brooks, 96, of Midwest City, passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2019. He was born on January 10th, 1923 in Manitou, Oklahoma, to Spence and Tressa Brooks. He came of age during The Dust Bowl, and as a true Okie, spent a summer in his late teens picking fruit in California from sun up to sun down. On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam. He retired in 1976 after 35 years in the Air Force and became a community fixture near Tinker Air Force Base for over 40 years. He was an active member of the Tinker Chapel Retiree Group. He had a passion for genealogy and deeply loved his family and friends. Glenn is survived by his son, Spencer; grandchild­ren, Michael L., Reid, Michael A., and Lois Marie; great grandchild­ren, Ben C., Ben L., Charlotte and Evelyn; daughters-in-law, Ann and Patty; granddaugh­ter-in-law, Mary; step-sons, John and Paul Carroll; step-daughtersi­n-law, Rebecca and Cheryl. He was predecease­d by his wives, Lois and Mini; his parents; his brothers, Cecil, Herman, and Dwight; his son, Gary L.; and his grandson, William. Visitation with the family will be Friday, February 8, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Del City. Services will be Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 10:00am at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Del City with burial in Arlington Memorial Gardens. Chaplain Charles Anderson will officiate.
