OSU's Henson to join Texas A&M staff
Oklahoma State suddenly finds itself in the market for a new offensive line coach, following a report on Friday that
Josh Henson has taken the offensive line coaching job at Texas A&M. Henson is set to join
Jimbo Fisher's staff at Texas A&M, according to a report from Bill Liucci of TexAgs.com.
Henson could not be reached by The Oklahoman for comment.
Henson worked with Fisher in 2005-06 under
Les Miles at LSU, while Fisher was the offensive coordinator and Henson served as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator.
Henson — along with OSU receivers coach
Kasey Dunn — was considered a strong candidate to be promoted to offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, but Mike Gundy hired former Princeton offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson in late January.
Texas A&M offered “significantly more money” to Henson, according to a report from GoPokes.com, which said Henson would be earning at least $600,000 at Texas A&M. Henson made $420,000 this past season.
Dunn was rumored to have been among the candidates for an opening on the Oregon staff in recent days as well, but nothing materialized.
Henson played offensive line at OSU, and began his college coaching career with the Cowboys as a graduate assistant in 1999.
