Dodgers drop season finale

The Oklahoma City Dodgers closed out the 2019 Pacific Coast League season with a 10-1 loss to the New Orleans Baby Cakes Monday at Chickasaw Brick town Ballpark.

The Dodgers finished the season with a 62-77 record and went 4-14 over the final 18 games. The 77 losses was the most since Oklahoma City rejoined the Pacific Coast League in 1998, surpassing the previous high of 75 set in 2011 (68-75) and 2009 (69-75).

In their final game as t he Baby Cakes, Rosell Herrera drove in five runs for New Orleans (73-65), which is re locating to Wichita, Kansas, for the 2020 season.

Dao's goal lifts Sooners past Tulsa

Kaylee Dao scored the game-winning goal in overtime as Oklahoma defeated Tulsa 3-2, Sunday night in Tulsa.

It was the third straight overtime game for the Sooners' soccer team. Dao's goal in overtime washer second gamewinnin­g goal of the year and her fifth goal of the season. Oklahoma improved to 3-0-1 on the season, including a 2-0-1 record in overtime games. The Sooners are undefeated through their first four games for the first t i me s i nce 2 009 when they won four straight to open the year.In the 98th minute, sophomore Jazzy Richards drove down the field, finding a wide-open Dao near the top of the 18-yard box. Dao sent a powerful shot over the l eaping Tulsa keeper to end t he game and gi ve Oklahoma the win.

Cowgirls win soccer home opener

Oklahoma State scored early and then used a flurry of second-half goals to put away Oral Roberts, 4-0, in its home opener at Neal Patterson Stadium in Stillwater on Sunday.

Olyvia Dowell scored twice for the Cowgirls, while Gabriella Coleman and Julia Lenhardt also found the back of the net as Oklahoma State improved to 2-0-1 on the season.

The s hut out marked Oklahoma State's second in three matches this season as Dani Greenlee and Brylee Brasher combined for the clean sheet.
