OU women's basketball to hold annual field day trip

For the sixth straight season, the Oklahoma women's basketball team will welcome school groups to the Lloyd Noble Center for Sooner Jr. Field Trip Day when it hosts Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Tip-off set for 10:30 a.m. Each child that attends will also receive a workbook with age-appropriat­e activities.

Schools can sign up ti attend at SoonerSpor­ts.com/ fieldtrip. The deadline for registrati­on is Nov. 6.

OSU soccer squad wins sixth straight

Oklahoma State remained undefeated on the season with a 3-0 victory against Kennesaw State late Thursday at Neal Patterson Stadium.

Grace Yochum and Charmé Morgan collected goals for 14th-ranked OSU as the Cowgirls won their sixth-straight match and improved to 7-0-1. Kennesaw State fell to 5-3 on the season.

The Cowgirls host SMU on Sunday at 1 p.m.

OU soccer team falls at SMU

Oklahoma dropped its first overtime match of the season, 3-2, to SMU Friday night at John Crain Field.

SMU (7-1-0) netted the game-winning golden goal in the 101st minute off the foot of Allie Thornton. Thornton received a pass from Hailey Bishop while on the run and took one touch before sending the ball into the back of the net from 12 yards out.

The Sooners (4-3-2) overcame a 2-1 deficit to force their fifth overtime game of the year. Tied at 2, senior Kristina O'Donnell was fouled in the box setting up a potential golden goal penalty kick 14 seconds in to the first overtime. Senior Kaylee Dao lined up for the shot but sent her attempt over the crossbar.

Fort Worth angler leads Tenkiller tournament

Chris Zaldain of Fort Worth, Texas, moved into the lead Friday of the Cherokee Casino Tahlequah Bassmaster Elite tournament at Lake Tenkiller with a two-day total of 25 pounds.

Tennessee angler Brandon Card is second with 24 pounds, 11 ounces. Daily takeoffs Saturday and Sunday will occur at 7 a.m. at Lake Tenkiller's Chicken Creek Ramp.

Weigh-ins will beat the Cherokee Casino in Tahlequah at 4 p.m.
