Offensive line on midseason honor roll

Oklahoma's offensive line was named to the midseason honor roll for the Joe Moore Award on Tuesday.

The Sooners are one of 24 teams to be recognized. The list includes fellow Big 12 programs Baylor, Kansas State and Texas.

The Joe Moore Award is given annually to the most outstanding offensive line in college football. Oklahoma won the award in 2018.

"I think it' s good for them," OU offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh said. "But by no means are we where we need to be."

The offensive line' s preparation has been better the last two weeks, Bedenbaugh said. It's led to better results on the field, which has made the group want to improve.

Red shirt sophomore center Creed Humphrey said the honor is a testament to how hard everyone on the offensive line worked in the offseason.

"Whenever you come to the University of Oklahoma, you expect to be one of the best offensive lines in the country," Humphrey said. "That's what' s always been around here and you come here with that expectation, so everybody on this offensive line and in this whole O-line room, they expect that to happen."

Oklahoma AD in response to Florida counterpart's scheduling tweet: 'You have my attention'

Usually, major college football scheduling is done out of the spotlight.

But Tuesday, Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin took to Twitter to try to fill out the Gators' schedule.

Unsurprisingly, his Oklahoma counterpart responded.

Joe Castiglione tweeted “Ok, so you have my attention ......” in response to Stricklin with a gif of Walt Disney.

Castiglione wasn't the only one to get back to Stricklin through Twitter. Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich tweeted at Stricklin to call him about exchanging trips between the Swamp and Death Valley.

Oklahoma and Florida have played only once — in the BCS title game after the 2008 season. The Gators won that meeting, 24-14.

It might be awhile before anything could come to fruition, though.

The Sooner shave at least one nonconference Power Five opponent on the schedule for every season through 2033.

Florida has one such game built into its schedule each season with Florida State. Unlike Oklahoma, the Gators have four nonconference games each season.

Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard used Stricklin's tweet to make a point about the strength of his program's scheduling — as well as the Big 12 overall — and call out the SEC's model.

“We already play 10 P5 games every year ( 9 conference games plus Iowa ). Maybe the@ SEC should play 9 conference games like the @Big12Conference,” Pollard tweeted.

Outside of the game against t he Seminoles, Florida has a home-andhome against Utah in 2022-23, Miami in 202425, Colorado in 2028-29 and Texas in 2030-31.

The Gators haven' t played an on conference road game outside Florida since 1991, when the Gators traveled to Syracuse.
