LSB Industries Inc.'s old headquarters is transformed and leased up
New Braum's for Piedmont
The Br au m' s store at the corner of Northwest Expressway and Piedmont Road will open Tuesday.
The new location at 12017 Northwest Expressway features asleek and modern design with nearly 6,000 square feet of space, seating for about 80 people, and a double drivethru. The store also has a Fresh Market area with meats, fruits, vegetables and fresh-fromthe-Bra um' s-farm dairy products.
“This location was highly requested, and we cannot wait to see how well it does,” saidDrew Braum, president and CEO of Braum's, which has 286 stores in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas.
The next new store is scheduled to open near Britton Road and N Pennsylvania Avenue in The Village in September.
Affordable housing funds
Six nonprofit housing organizations plan to use funding approved by Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency's Board of Trustees to build or rehabilitate houses for low-income residents across the state.
The following received a total of $2.66 million in HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding, which is meant to encourage partnerships to fund construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing, particularly in rural Oklahoma.:
• Native American Housing Services Inc ., to build two houses to sell in Midwest City.
• Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Inc., to buy and rehabilitate three houses to sell in Midwest City.
• Community Development Support Association Inc., to buy rehabilitate two houses to sell in Enid.
•Musko gee County Community Action Foundation Inc ., to buy andre ha bi litate three houses for renters in Muskogee.
• Deep Fork Community Action Foundation Inc., to buy and rehabilitate two houses for renters in McIntosh County.
• Little Dixie Community Action Agency Inc., to build a triplex for renters in Hugo.
Each organization also received an operating assistance grant.
In addition, Community Action Agency of Oklahoma City and Oklahoma/Canadian Counties Inc. received a $200,000 toprovide assistance to 15 homebuyers in Oklahoma and Canadian counties.
