Christophe­r Abiodun Lajuwomi was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria to Thompson and S a r a h L a j u w o m i on January 1st, 1951. He was the first of 3 children. He grew up in a C h r i s t i a n home. Chris was a successful athlete in high school and college in Nigeria. He was nicknamed “Castro Jet” by his friends for exceptiona­l display of speed on the track. He ran the 100 and 4x100 for the Nigerian National Team. Chris courted Comfort Lajuwomi and they were married on April 25, 1975. They remained married for 28 years until Comfort passed away Aug. 2, 2003. Chris suffered a stroke in 2008 and spent the rest of his days in Cedar Creek Nursing Home until he was called for eternal glory on Jan. 27th, 2021. They were blessed with two beautiful children. Christophe­r graduated from University of Oklahoma. He was gainfully employed by DHS until 1998, when he successful­ly opened his own business, Progressiv­e Counseling Services. He was a member of the African Christian Fellowship. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing soccer and basketball with his friends. He was a big fan University of Oklahoma Football, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Rockets. Viewings for Chris will be 4-8PM February 2nd & 3rd at Vondel L. Smith & Son. 6934 S. Western Ave., OKC, OK 73139. Funeral Services will be for immediate family. Chris will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
