Here are The Oklahoman's high school athletes of the week for Jan. 25-31

Boys basketball

D.J. Freeman, Sr., Casady: It was a huge week for Freeman, who has played some of his best basketball in recent weeks. He helped Casady to a 3-0 record and had a massive left-handed dunk that went viral on social media. During those three games, Freeman averaged 28.7 points on 67.9% shooting from the field. The 6-foot-6 forward also averaged 17.7 rebounds, 3.7 steals, 3.3 assists and 2.7 blocks. Freeman, who shot 86.7% from the free-throw line, has helped guide the Cyclones to a five-game win streak.

Girls basketball

Karley Johnson, Jr., Mustang: The Arkansas commit shined for Class 6A No. 5 Mustang last week. The Broncos bested No. 8 Moore on Friday and then Yukon on Saturday, extending their win streak to three games. Johnson recorded 23 points, seven assists and 10 rebounds in the two games. She played a vital role while battling 2020 Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year Aaliyah Moore in Mustang's 58-50 win over Moore. The 5-foot-8 forward then scored 16 points in Mustang's 69-54 win over Yukon. Johnson is looking more comfortabl­e with her new team this season and has helped lead Mustang to a 13-3 record. She transferre­d in the offseason from Newcastle, where she was named to The Oklahoman's 2020 Little AllCity first team.

Max Wolfley, Sr., Carl Albert: He had excellent performanc­es at two meets over the past week. He won the 50-yard freestyle and 100 freestyle at the Suburban Conference meet last Tuesday, then claimed victories in the 50 freestyle and 200 freestyle against Plainview and Piedmont on Friday. Wolfley will look to add to his recent success during regionals this week.

Abigail Palmer, Jr., Yukon: She had a pair of top-three individual finishes during a meet at Fort Gibson last Tuesday. She placed second in the 100 backstroke and third in the 400 freestyle and also helped Yukon place second in the 200 medley relay and third in the 400 freestyle relay. Her performanc­es helped Yukon earn the win, beating Fort Gibson, Tulsa Edison, Mount St. Mary, Checotah and Tulsa Memorial.

Wrestling

John Roberts, So., Oklahoma Christian School: Roberts won the 184pound title at the Chickasha High School Classic last weekend. He edged Shawnee's Samuel Anderson 3-2 in the championsh­ip match, improving to 20-3 on the season. Roberts is just a sophomore but has already made a name for himself at OCS. Last year, he became the first wrestler in school history to advance to the state tournament.
