Sergeant Truman Slohn, 92, passed on Saturday afternoon Feb. 20th, 2021 after losing the battle with the Covid-19 virus. Born Oct, 26th, 1928 in Mt. View, OK., he was a graduate of Mt. View High School class of ‘46 and joined the Army in 1948. Truman married Marjorie Dunn June 20th, 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK. where they and their family remained. He was an avid bowler and always held a league office. He also found joy in teaching family members to bowl. He greatly enjoyed entertaini­ng and was often found with his camera taking pictures of friends and family. He took great pride in his backyard garden, where he grew a wide variety of vegetables and herbs. In his downtime, he worked the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper. He managed all of the licensing department sat H. J. Jeffreys, American Farm Lines, and McCorkle Truck Line for many years. After retiring in 1993, Truman was able to stay home and care for his beloved wife Marjorie during the latter days of her life. Truman was a loving husband, dedicated father, caretaker, provider, teacher, and honorable soldier. He is survived by his son Neal Slohn & wife Donna, daughters Sheri Slohn, Roxane Roberts, and Linda Thompson & husband James. He is also survived by his 5 grandchild­ren Christy Tapp, Kim Lee, Johnny Slohn, Brandi Thompson, and Jamie Young. As well as his 6 great-grandchild­ren Alyssa, Madeline, Rachel, and Lauren Tapp; Noah and Emma Lee. Truman is preceded in death by his loving wife Marjorie Slohn, parents Arther & Emma Slohn, and sister LaVerne Corey. The viewing will be at Bill Merritt Funeral Service, 6201 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK, Thursday, Feb. 25th, 2021 from 5 pm - 7 pm. Service will be held at Bill Merritt Funeral Service at 2 pm on Feb. 26th, 2021.
