EDMOND - Mary Ann (Benne) Lane went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 12, 2021, at the Alliance Health Hospital in Midwest City, OK. She was welcomed by her parents and brothers and sisters that have gone before her. Mary Ann was the eleventh born to William Henry Benne and Katie May Bowers in Edmond, OK. Including Mary Ann there were five boys and seven girls. They lived in the Edmond and Deer Creek area when she was a child. She attended school there and graduated from Edmond High School. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed each time they were together for holidays, birthdays and family reunions. Mary Ann was always a happy and grateful person. She was united in marriage to J.W. Lane on January 10, 1962 until their divorce on August 23, 1973. During their marriage, they were blessed with one son, Patrick Leon Lane. After their divorce, Mary Ann raised Patrick as a single parent working two jobs in order to provide a living for them. Mary Ann was a very hard worker. She retired from Tinker AFB after 33 years, however in order to meet her needs each month, she continued a second job of taking in ironing for others in her home. Mary Ann was a woman of faith and was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Midwest City, OK and she always loved attending her church. Mary Ann had a big family reunion with those she loved that had gone on before her. She was preceded in death by her parents and eleven siblings, Helen Bradshaw, Earl Benne, William Henry Benne, Jr., Ruth Paine, Lewis Benne, Shirley Spencer, Frances Dillard, Carl Benne, Delbert Ray Benne, Betty Provence and Oneta McDaniel. Mary Ann is survived by her son Patrick Leon Lane. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for her at the hospital and to express their appreciati­on to Ethel, Joyce, Kathy and Karrol for all their assistance through the years. Also thank you to all the family for their prayers and kindness during her recent illness and passing. Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Matthews Funeral Home.
