Patriot Award honor
Eric Magley, vice president at Bank On IT, recently received the Service Member Patriot Award in recognition of his support of a military member. Magley was nominated by Alex Weeks, an inventory supervisor at Bank On IT and six-year veteran of t he Army National Guard.
“Eric is a true leader at Bank On IT, and his support of Alex has not gone unnoticed,” said Chelsea Larsen, Bank On IT human resources manager. “We greatly appreciate Alex's service and are pleased to have the opportunity to support him during his enlistment.”
The Service Member Patriot Award is presented by the Office of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Individual super visors are nominated by employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The award recognizes leaders who make an exceptional effort to provide support through flexible schedules, time off before and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.
Scholarship recipient
Minke Compton, a senior at Deer Creek High School, has been awarded the Wildcat Scholarship from Culver- Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.
The $ 8,500 per year scholarship is awarded based on academic credentials and is renewable provided the student remains in good academic standing.

College is a fouryear residential institution in affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
College of Fellows election
The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering( AIM BE) has announced the election of Rajagopal Ramesh, OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center researcher and professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, to its College of Fellows.
Ra mesh was no mina ted, reviewed and elected by peer sand members of the College of Fellows for outstanding contribution in clinical translation of cancer gene therapeutics using biological and synthetic materials.
The College of Fellows is composed of the top 2% of medical and biological engineers in the country.
A formal induction ceremony will be held during AIM B E' s 2021 annual event on March 26. Ra mesh will be inducted, along with 174 colleagues who make up the AIMBE Fellow Class of 2021.
Professors' accomplishments
Rose State College professors Chuang Shao and Steven Fowler were announced as one of two recipient soft he Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges Great Ideas for Teaching program for their math- based approach to studying Unmanned Aerial Vehicle( UAV) technology.
Based on a project funded by the National Science Foundation, Shao and Fowler's course helps students apply abstract ma the ma tical theory to real-world UAV applications. A collaborative effort between Rose State and t he University of Oklahoma, the project's goals were to develop UAV competency in Rose State technology and engineering students, to increase transferability to OU's aerospace program and to increase UAV and STEM awareness in K-12 students.
Tulsa Community College was also one of the top two winners alongside Rose State.
School newspaper honor
Harding Charter Preparatory High School senior Katie Hill em eyer recently was awarded the Best of School Newspapers Online award for her most recent article. Her story was titled "No One Even Batted an Eye," which shed light on domestic abuse within the school community.
The school newspaper staff has received three Best of School Newspapers Online awards this school year.
