OKC National Memorial & Museum plans programs

The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum has planned a month of remembranc­es and special programs in April.

Following are public events that are scheduled throughout the month:

Friday — 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Memorial Museum, EYEwitness Tours with Richard Williams, survivor of the Oklahoma City bombing. Hear Richard's personal account and how he's looking back and thinking forward 26 years later.

Saturday — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., National Park Service Junior Ranger Day at the museum.

Monday — 8:45 a.m., Anniversar­y Remembranc­e Ceremony at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. The ticketed event is only for family members, survivors and first responders due to safety protocols, however, the public may view the entire ceremony on MemorialMu­seum.com, Oklahoma City TV stations and Oklahoman.com.

Also, Monday is Cox Community Day at the museum with free admission from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

April 21 — 9 to 11:30 a.m., “History is Relevant” virtual workshop with Robin Gurwitch on supporting students during ever-changing times and understand­ing today's stressors and moving forward together. This presentati­on is free and open to the public, but participan­ts must register for the virtual workshop at MemorialMu­seum.com/events.

Friday, April 30 — 11 a.m., Ground Zero Emergency Training Center Passing of the Leash Ceremony at the memorial. Twenty-one new canine officers, trained by Ground Zero, will be assigned to their new human officers.

April 20 — “How does your generation respond to injustice?” facilitate­d by Gloria Griffin, Former Millwood Schools Superinten­dent

April 27 — “What is the role of forgivenes­s and remembranc­e following a personal tragedy?” facilitate­d by Sara Sweet. Her father, W. Stephen Williams, was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing.
