Sooners hit three homers, run-rule Texas

Mackenzie Donihoo belted a threerun pinch hit homer in the fifth inning to give top-ranked Oklahoma an 11-1 run-rule victory over No. 6 Texas Friday night in Norman.

The Sooners, 31-0, scored five runs in the first inning to cruise to their 38th straight victory and 19th in a row over Texas.

Tiare Jennings and Jocelyn Alo hit back-to-back solo homers in the first. Jayda Coleman delivered a RBI triple while Lynnsie Elam and Nicole Mendes both had RBI singles in the frame.

Giselle Juarez got the pitching win for the Sooners, allowing a solo homer in the third for Texas’ only run.

The two squads meet at 3 p.m. Saturday in game two of the series.
