Lender names OKC woman to diversity post
Valenthia Doolin, of Oklahoma City, has joined Chicago-based Guaranteed Rate, a top retail mortgage lenders, as community outreach manager for fair lending as part of its diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Doolin, who grew up in Arcadia, will help Guaranteed Rate provide more education and engagement opportunities to the widest range of borrowers and communities, and work to amplify the company’s goal of further diversifying its workforce.
Her real estate finance career has included experience as a loan Doolin originator, assistant
vice president for mortgage services, and housing specialist. She is devoted to improving communities through home ownership and addressing systemic barriers that prevent or make it difficult for many communities to participate in the American dream.
“By working to ... help BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), which have been traditionally underserved by the mortgage industry, to realize their dream of home ownership, I am able to continue my personal commitment to service and make good on the promise to leave my community better than I found it,” Doolin said.
She added, “People need to know, ‘We see you and we are here to serve your communities.’ We are closely examining the data to identify how we can best effect real change.”
